MTI Dual Zone Split Tube Furnace

OTF-1200X-II-UL is a Split two-zone tube furnace which can achieve faster heating up to 1200oC and create a different thermal gradient by setting the different temperatures of each zone under custom atmosphere.

Vigor Glovebox

Dual-user, SciLab model. The argon atmosphere is maintained inside the glovebox. Water or air sensitive synthesis, materials preparation and cell assembly are done in this equipment.

MTI Compact Split Tube Furnace

OTF-1200X-S is a compact split tube furnace with a max working temperature of 1200°C.  The furnace allows heating samples in the vacuum or flowing gas.

MTI Large Muffle Furnace

KSL-1200X-L is a 16x16x16" furnace built with thermal-efficient ceramic (high-purity alumina fiber) insulation surrounding the chamber to provide maximum energy efficiency. The heating elements on all three sides of the interior chamber allows fast heating and enhances temperature uniformity.

Denver Flotation machine

Denver Model D12 flotation machine is flotation testing unit with a suspended type flotation mechanism, equipped with advanced parts for conducting test with tanks ranging from 250 to 2000 grams.

Quantachrome Autosorb iQ

A dual-port physisorptiion (chemisorption can be integrated) gas sorption analyzer that is used to analyze surface area, pore size and distribution of porous materials (including both micropore and mesopore analysis capability).

NanoEngineering Materials Research Center (NE-MRC)

The Department of NanoEngineering's Materials Research Center (NE-MRC), consisting of 5 complementary materials preparation and characterization suites, was established in 2012 to provide both researchers in the department of NanoEngineering and researchers from other (UCSD) departments with comprehensive materials characterization capabilities in a centralized facility and foster interdisciplinary interaction and collaboration.

Nano3

Nano3 is the main facility of the San Diego Nanotechnology Infrastructure (SDNI), which is one of 16 nation-wide sites of the NSF supported National Nanotechnology Coordinated Infrastructure (NNCI) founded in 2015.

Nano3 provides advanced capabilities for fabrication and characterization in a state-of-the-art cleanroom opened in May 2006. The name Nano3 reflects the synergetic nature of the facility, focusing on three fields of nanoscale research and development within the space - Nanoscience, Nanoengineering and Nanomedicine.

In addition to providing essential nanofabrication capabilities for research on electronic and optoelectronic materials and devices, the facility facilitates the pursuit of research in emerging, interdisciplinary, and rapidly growing fields such as biomedical and biochemical devices, heterogeneous integrated devices and circuits, and sensor technology.
